Did You Know

Did you know…!

All Catholics, without exception, have the mission of leading a holy life and evangelizing.

Did you know that we won’t be saved merely by attending Mass! Did you know that you cannot be saved merely for receiving the Holy Communion every Sunday! Did you know that going to Mass every weekend doesn’t make someone good! Did you know that we won’t be saved simply due to the fact that Christ has already died for us! Did you know that we won’t be saved for the mere reason that we haven’t killed anyone!

Did you know that we won’t be saved just because we pray many Rosaries! Did you know that you cannot be saved just because you are a priest! Did you know that you can’t be saved just because you are a nun or a monk! Did you know that you won’t be saved just because you have performed many miracles or healings! Did you know that you won’t be saved because precisely after Mass is when you decide to go out and party!

Did you know that the consecrated bread and wine or Holy Communion are only a spiritual food!

Did you know that the bread and wine or Holy Eucharist don’t produce any spiritual effect on us; they don’t even take us to heaven, unless we fulfill God’s laws or, in other words, do what the Sacrament requires of us, in order for it to be efficacious! Did you know that you cannot be saved if you don’t fight for the truth and justice! Did you know that you can’t be saved if you keep quiet in the face of injustice! Did you know that a faith without works is useless!

The Lord Jesus says, “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.  Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name? Did we not drive out demons in your name? Did we not do mighty deeds in your name?’ Then I will declare to them solemnly, ‘I never knew you. Depart from me, you evildoers!’ (Matthew 7, 21-23).

I didn’t know that we Catholics are obliged, before God, to evangelize our children and transmit the life of holiness to others, staying away from human lusts, delights, and vices! I didn’t know that all of us Catholics must say the truth at the required place and time, even if it’s within our own Church or even our own home, in order to avoid committing injustices continually!

I didn’t know that even our priests are not exempt!

No, I didn’t know that!
